STC Twenty One Represented at EU-China Aviation Partnership Project Event

By January 31, 2020 February 4th, 2020 News

After a busy start to 2020, we’re now 31 days into the New Year (so a belated Happy New Year to you all) and so much has happened already.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish a Happy New Year to all our customers who have recently celebrated the Chinese New Year, this leads us nicely into our next section.

STC Twenty One was proudly represented by Alastair Erskine, our Head of Design, after being invited by EASA to speak at the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) in Chengdu, China. The aim of the EU-China APP, is “to strengthen the economic partnership between the EU and China in the civil aviation domain”. The event earlier this month focussed on Design Assurance System where Alastair was a guest speaker and discussed The Control of Design Subcontracting and Type Design Data to an audience of 100 individuals from a variety of countries.

The event’s purpose was to explain how the regulations are enacted by industry. We were invited as a non-TC holder to supplement the TC holders such as Airbus, Airbus Helicopter, Rolls Royce, Leonardo Helicopters, ATR and SAFRAN.

STC Twenty One’s inclusion in this event has enabled the company to build new relationships with customers we hadn’t already partnered and further strengthen our stature in the industry.

STC Twenty One are also looking forward to attending the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany (March 31st – April 2nd), EBACE in Geneva, Switzerland (26th – 28th May) and the Aviation Week MRO Europe event in Barcelona, Spain (27th – 29th October), we hope to see you there. If you’d like to arrange a meeting whilst we’re at these events, please click here to register your interest.

More EASA news in January in the form of price changes. STC Twenty One were informed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) that the European Commission has adopted the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2153 on the fees and charges levied by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and repealing Regulation (EU) No. 319/2014 which has resulted in a price increase for all aspects within EASA.

The price increase for an STC Approval is 22% and for a Major Revision to an already approved STC has increased by 47%. Find out more by clicking HERE.
